What the EZ Lynk Auto Agent 3 Is
The Auto Agent 3 is a small device that plugs into the OBD-II port under the dash. It links your truck's ECM to the EZ Lynk cloud, and your phone connects to the device through the EZ Lynk app. Your tuner builds a calibration, sends it to your account, and you install it from your phone. If the truck needs a change later, you record a data log, send it back, and the tuner sends a revised file.
That back-and-forth is why diesel owners choose it. A handheld programmer loads a file and stops there. With EZ Lynk, the tuner sees how your truck behaves on a long grade or while towing and adjusts the file without a shop visit.
The device also works as a scan tool. It reads and clears trouble codes and streams live data such as boost, exhaust temperature, and transmission temperature to your phone.
One detail confuses first-time users. Your phone joins the Auto Agent's own Wi-Fi network for live data, and it uses mobile data to reach the EZ Lynk cloud. A "No Internet" warning on the device network is normal and does not mean the hardware failed.
What You Get and What You Still Need
The hardware is the delivery tool. The tune is what changes the truck. Here is how the two pieces fit together.

The EZ Lynk Auto Agent 3 device is listed as its own product. A device bought without a tuning package can read codes and show live data. It cannot change how the truck runs.
Fitment by Platform
EngineGo lists EZ Lynk packages by engine and year range. Match your exact year, engine, cab style, and transmission before you order. A pickup and a cab and chassis truck with the same engine can need different files.

Platforms that do not appear in current EZ Lynk listings, such as the 3.0L EcoDiesel, need a check with support before you order.
Each platform and year range has its own listing, so match your engine and year from the table before you open a product page.
Check These Before You Order
Important: Not every truck with a supported engine is ready to flash on day one.
- 2018 and newer Ram Cummins: Ram added a security gateway that blocks flashing through the OBD-II port, so these trucks need a bypass cable. The cable is needed while you flash, and it can stay installed if you route it cleanly. A gateway cable and an ECM unlock are two different requirements. Ask whether your package includes the cable. EngineGo also lists a 2018 Ram 6.7L Cummins bypass cable separately.
- 2022-2024 Ram Cummins: These trucks have tighter ECM security. Providers now offer tuning through the OBD-II port without an ECM swap, such as the 2022-2024 Cummins tuning package. Confirm the unlock method for your exact truck before you order.
- 2008-2010 6.4L Power Stroke: EngineGo lists a 6.4L custom EZ Lynk tuning package. Confirm with support that the package and your device pairing are supported for your truck.
- 2017-2018 L5P Duramax: The ECM must be unlocked before a calibration can be written. Depending on year and provider, that can mean an unlock service or a pre-unlocked ECM. Later years are reported to be simpler, so confirm the requirement for your VIN.
- Transmission tuning: Engine and transmission calibrations are often sold separately. EngineGo lists 68RFE transmission tuning for 2010-2021 Rams. Aisin-equipped trucks have their own Aisin transmission tuning listing. Ford and GM trucks may need a separate transmission flash in addition to the engine flash. More engine torque also loads the factory transmission, so many tuners recommend a matching transmission calibration. Ask yours.
- PTO-equipped trucks: EZ Lynk tuning does not support PTO units on any platform.
Single Calibration or SOTF
Most packages come in two styles.
A single calibration is one tune written around your truck's hardware: injectors, turbo, exhaust, tires, and how you use it. If the build changes, your tuner sends a revised file. For a truck with one clear job, this is usually the cleaner choice.
SOTF stands for switch on the fly. It gives you several power levels you can select while driving, such as a conservative tow level and a stronger work level. Each level is a complete calibration with its own fueling, boost, and torque settings. It takes more tuner development time, so it costs more. It suits a truck that tows heavy one day and commutes the next.
SOTF also needs a selector switch. The tune reads the switch signal through an existing sensor circuit and treats it as a power level command, and your tuner specifies the wiring for your truck. If the switch is disconnected, the truck usually falls back to a low power level, so ask your tuner how yours behaves. EngineGo lists a Ram Cummins SOTF switch as a separate item. Adding a switch alone does not create SOTF support, so confirm the package includes SOTF files.
Limited Support or Full Support
Support terms decide what happens after your first flash. Limited support covers a set window. Full support keeps your tuner available for revisions. EngineGo lists upgrades from limited to full, such as the 6.7L Power Stroke full support upgrade.
Support terms differ by seller, so ask four questions before you pay:
- When does the support period start?
- Which revisions are covered?
- What access remains after support ends?
- What happens if a flash fails?
What the Full Setup Can Include
The device price is rarely the whole price. A complete setup can include:
- The Auto Agent 3 device
- An engine tuning package, single calibration or SOTF
- Transmission tuning
- A SOTF switch
- A bypass cable for 2018 and newer Rams
- An ECM unlock for 2017-2018 L5P trucks
- A support upgrade
Prices vary by package and truck. Add up every item before you compare quotes from different sellers.
Auto Agent 2 or Auto Agent 3
The Auto Agent 3 is the current hardware. Tuners who run both report faster data handling, more onboard memory, and expanded logging. The cloud workflow and the app are the same. If you own an Auto Agent 2 that connects to your truck and works with your tuner, an upgrade is not mandatory. Replace it only if your tuner stops supporting it or your truck needs the newer hardware. If you are buying new, buy the Auto Agent 3.
How EZ Lynk Compares With Other Tuner Types
EZ Lynk fits owners who want a tuner to manage the calibration and revise it over time. If you want to write your own calibrations, a different platform fits better. If you are still deciding between a canned file and a custom one, compare tuner types by platform before you buy.

Before You Order, Have These Details Ready
Your tuner builds the file from your truck's details. Missing information slows the first flash. Gather:
- Year, make, model, engine, and VIN
- Pickup or cab and chassis, cab style, and bed length
- Transmission type
- Installed hardware: turbo, injectors, exhaust diameter, and any emissions-related changes
- Tire size and intended use
- Whether you already own an Auto Agent
Not sure about any of it? Send your truck details to EngineGo support before you buy, and we will help confirm the right package.
Shipping and Returns
Most orders are processed the same or next business day, excluding Sundays. Most packages arrive within 3-5 business days after leaving the warehouse, depending on location and carrier conditions. Free shipping applies to orders shipped within the continental United States.
EngineGo accepts authorized returns within 45 calendar days from the date the product is received. Items must be unused, uninstalled, unmodified, and in original condition. Tuner products and custom files have stricter limits. A tune built for your VIN and sent to your account may not be returnable, so confirm the terms on the product page before ordering.
Legal and Compliance Notes
Owning an Auto Agent, working with a registered tuner, or buying a file labeled off-road does not make a calibration lawful for a certified vehicle. Federal tampering rules cover emissions controls, and the EPA has pursued sellers, shops, and installers. Do not rely on forum claims about legal status. Confirm the rules that apply to you, and check your warranty, before you install anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a tuner to use the Auto Agent 3?
Yes, if you want to change how the truck runs. The device alone reads codes and shows live data. Custom files come from a tuner.
Will it work on my 2019 Ram?
Ram trucks from 2018 and newer need a bypass cable to connect. Confirm that your package includes it or order it separately.
Does EZ Lynk work on trucks with a PTO?
No. EZ Lynk tuning does not support PTO units.
Do I pay a monthly subscription for tuning?
Tuning support terms depend on your package. EZ Lynk also sells a separate fleet and electronic logging subscription for hours-of-service tracking. That is a different service from tuning support.
